Private Pirts Sessions - Individual/Group, October 13 - 22

Experience Traditional Latvian Pirts

Private therapeutic sauna rituals with visiting Latvian sauna masters Māra Tīmane or Vilnis Lejnieks

October 13–22 · Ann Arbor Area · Limited Availability

For a short time this October, experience the healing tradition of Latvian pirts through a private therapeutic sauna ritual with Māra or Vilnis.

Unlike a recreational sauna session, pirts is an intentional, whole-person ritual practice. Heat, steam, water, medicinal plants, herbal whisks, natural body treatments, touch, and deep rest are woven together to support physical relaxation, emotional release, restoration, and reconnection.

Sessions are personalized for the people receiving them and offered for individuals, couples, and private groups of up to six.

3-hour therapeutic pirts experience · $300 total

What to Expect

Your experience begins slowly, with a warm herbal infusion and time to meet your sauna master, arrive in your body, and settle into the ritual.

The body is gradually warmed in the sauna, alternating with periods of cooling and rest. Natural herbal scrubs, traditional whisking with leafy branches and medicinal plants, herbal tea, Latvian tastes, and periods of quiet integration are woven throughout the experience.

Each ritual unfolds differently according to the people receiving it and may include:

Herbal infusions · Gentle warming · Heat & steam · Natural herbal scrubs · Therapeutic whisking · Cooling & rest · Latvian tea & tastes · Grounding & integration

A Healing Practice

Traditional Latvian pirts approaches sauna as more than exposure to heat. It is a slow, rhythmic practice of warming, cleansing, stimulating, resting, returning, and tending to the person as a whole.

The experience creates space to slow down, soften physical and emotional tension, reconnect with the body, receive care, and restore a sense of grounded well-being.

This is a traditional wellness and healing practice and is not a substitute for medical or mental health treatment.

No previous pirts experience is needed. Come as you are and allow yourself to receive.
